Problem
A client was at the beginning of their project and wanted to create an advanced board game with a high level of difficulty in a dark fantasy style. They needed an art director and illustrator who could establish the overall visual direction and create a solid artistic foundation for the other artists to follow.
Result
I created illustrations for the characters, logotype, packaging, and card templates, and established a highly detailed, recognizable dark fantasy visual style.
My role
Worked as a freelance Illustrator and Art Director, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and Project Manager.

Logo & Packaging Illustartion
The idea was to create the shape of a face composed of smaller images and intricate details. When the artwork is viewed up close, hidden elements such as forests, soldiers, wings, towers, and other fantasy motifs become visible within the face.
Cards
I designed the card template and all the customizable elements, including the clan symbols, rarity indicators, and race icons. Every element was illustrated from scratch by me.
I also illustrated several characters featured on the playing cards.
I illustrated the backs of the playing cards in a Rorschach-inspired style, as requested by the client. The design was inspired by the famous inkblot tests developed by Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach, in which symmetrical black ink stains were used as a psychological assessment tool.
